Our first presentation will be about Sisu, a solution targeted to adolescent mental health. Sisu seeks to provide a bridge between the individual and a supportive community, as well as provide access to safe, therapist-approved content and support between visits with professional providers. It takes a social and emotional learning approach which is intended to empower teens and adults to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. This includes components for use in schools.

Our presenter will be Erin Little, Chief Executive Officer.

Our second presentation will cover Leva, a solution designed for expectant mothers and mothers of babies. Leva connects with experts in all forms of baby feeding, pre and post-partum wellness, and assists in tracking your feeding and baby growth. Leva represents an app-based community that educates and empowers mothers and parents of babies aged 0-12 months

CEO and founder of Leva, Vanessa Jupe, will lead the presentation and discussion.

Remember the Health Innovation Forum on July 20th. We will be looking at Health Information Exchanges Now and in the Future. We will have a panel discussion with the leaders of the three HIEs serving the Kansas City area. Come to hear about the challenges in the current marketplace and the prospects for data sharing, along with safety and security, as we move into the future. Free with registration here.

Additionally, there is session held by Kansas City chapter of the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Association (VRARA) and hosted by Children’s Mercy on July 25. It will cover generative AI in healthcare and include an overview Children’s Mercy’s “Patient Progression Hub”. Registration and more information are available here.

Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am.
We send out an email agenda and calendar invite to this stakeholder list, which we loosely call the Health Innovation Team. If you wish to be added to the email list, please send a note to jfitzpatrick@kcdigitaldrive.org.
