In our October meeting, we will have presentations from two exciting areas developed in Kansas City.

First, we will hear from Drs. Jennifer Goldman and Jennifer Schuster of Children’s Mercy Hospital. They will address School-Based COVID-19 Testing: Experience in Kansas City. The focus will be on the TLC Study which is funded by the RADx_UP program of the National Institutes of Health. Kansas City is one of eight sites nationally that are examining implementation, dynamics and acceptability for school-based testing programs. Locally, the program is currently in eight Kansas City public schools

In our second presentation, Steven Coen, CEO and Founder of SaRA Health will discuss SaRA Health. Starting with a “digital recovery assistant” to help keep employees on-track with their at-home physical therapy, SaRA is seen as an effective engagement tool and has continued to move forward with an assistant for falls prevention. Recovery and prevention – key elements for promoting health and reducing costs. SaRA is a past participant in the Techstars Kansas City Accelerator.

For those who would like to re-visit our last meeting where we covered the tremendous progress of telehealth at the University of Kansas Health System and the use of AI in imaging diagnostics with Gradient Health, please feel free to access the video and chat text here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YvJYIHFCx6xpX6zYiUz1YFTGYyR3sY10?usp=sharing

We look forward to seeing everyone at this month’s meeting!

###
Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
We send out an email agenda and calendar invite to this stakeholder list, which we loosely call the Health Innovation Team. If you wish to be added to the email list, please send a note to jfitzpatrick@kcdigitaldrive.org.
