About the Event
The VR/AR Association (VRARA) is an international XR organization. The Kansas City chapter of the VRARA is dedicated to growing the VR/AR industry in the region through connecting, educating, and advocating VR/AR as an innovative platform that will transform industries and contribute to our community and economy.
We’ll kick off at 5:00pm with a networking event (Pizza and Drink provideD), then start the talks around 5:15.
At 7pm, the venue is then open to the public and attendees can book time for the full hour experience at https://www.flipswitchvr.com/book-now/

5:30 – KC What is happening in XR in KC, Company & University Overviews
- Jim Mahoney, Chief Technology Officer at FlipSwitch LLC, will discuss FlipSwitchVR which is a multiplayer free roam VR experience where you are the controller.
- Michael Eichenseer, Co-Founder & Lead Designer at VRdojo – Building cross-platform networking systems for immersive experiences, starting with a class based VR PvP game called Dust.
- James Flexman, Founder at Phog Labs – Phog Labs’ first game Wallball, a Pong-style game, is now available in the Meta Quest App Lab. Compete in single player mode against 40 opponents or a rally streak game to see how high you can score. Multiplayer is coming soon.
- Phillip Hodges, VRoKCs – VRoKCs will be hosting their next hackathon April 28th-30th. Phillip will discuss the program and how you can be involved.
5:45 – Networking, XR Demos and 5 minute demonstrations of the FlipSwitch experience (groups of 4 at a time).

We are planning KC VRARA meeting every 2 months – either on Zoom or in person at different KC Metro Locations – put on by the VRARA Kansas City Chapter with the support of KC Digital Drive.
Dress is casual. The event is free to registered attendees.
