The Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion (KCCDI) is an open, collaborative group of organizations who foster digital equity and access to technology for Kansas City metro communities. KCCDI meets twice monthly on the first and third Friday of every month to hear about the work of local digital inclusion practitioners, and share information about upcoming opportunities in the digital inclusion space.
FEATURED CONTENT
Devices are a critical need for many living on the wrong side of the digital divide. Without access to an affordable device, too many are relying on their smartphone for necessary tasks, like applying for benefits or jobs, completing homework and more. It can be hard to find the money in an already-tight budget to purchase a laptop, however. Kansas City is fortunate to have several organizations working to bring affordable devices to our community.
Kechia Smith, Executive Director of ArtsTech, which offers young people and the community an opportunity to advance their artistic and technological skills in an entrepreneurial business environment.
Stacia Hardyway, Community Impact – Grants Manager with PCs for People, a national nonprofit social enterprise working to get low-cost quality computers and internet into the homes of individuals, families, and nonprofits with low income.
Maggali Salinas, Account Manager, and Carlos Salinas, Executive Director, with Electro Mundo, a new community-based nonprofit for the Kansas City metropolitan area whose focus is two fold: bridging the digital divide and tackling e-waste.
NEXT MEETING
The next KCCDI meeting will be held virtually on Friday, Sept 5th, 2025.
Please email lscott@kcdigitaldrive.org if you have announcements to share at an upcoming Coalition meeting.
