In our January meeting we will focus specifically on a major new alignment for health in the Kansas City area, Centrus Health. Operational since January 2018, Centrus is a newly-developed, physician-led Clinically Integrated Network. The clinically integrated network model is based on communication and collaboration among multiple providers who share a common commitment to the value of patient care. Centrus Health Kansas City brings providers together in a partnership designed to improve the quality — and lower the cost — of patient care across the entire continuum. It represents the employed medical groups of North Kansas City Hospital, Shawnee Mission Health and The University of Kansas Health System, and independent physicians including the Kansas City Metropolitan Physician Association (KCMPA).
Engage with Executive Director Jill Watson and Director of IT Jane Maskus as they help us to understand:
  • What is the concept of a clinically integrated network?
  • How is the Centrus alignment meant to work?
  • How will technology and new strategies be used to aid the integration and improve the quality necessary for value-based care?
  • What will be some of the markers/metrics for success?
Given the significance of the Centrus alignment, we look forward to seeing a large group of our regular attendees – and please encourage a friend or colleague to join you!

Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. KC Digital Drive works closely with KU Med and Steve Fennel to program and plan the meetings. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
We send out an email agenda and calendar invite to this stakeholder list, which we loosely call the Health Innovation Team. If you wish to be added to the email list, please send a note to adeacon@kcdigitaldrive.org.
