First, we will look to the entrepreneurial community for a health system call management solution. Heavy Technology Group is a KC area software development company whose On-Call Hub (OCH) provides a web-based, 24/7, call management platform that assists operators with receiving, charting, and digitally delivering records to their customers. Hospitals and nurse triage companies use OCH to intake call from patients looking for medical assistance and deliver the records of those calls to primary care providers. Heavy Technology has an existing client base, but expresses their interest in additional feedback they can receive from our Health Innovation Team.

Presenting will be Steve Condon, Chief Technology Officer, and Matt Atkins, Chief Executive Officer.

In our second segment, we have the opportunity to become familiar with Unite Us which is introducing Unite Kansas + Unite Missouri, a Community Information Exchange (CIE) of health and social care providers sponsored by CyncHealth. Partners in the CIE are connected through a shared technology platform, Unite Us, which enables them to send and receive electronic referrals, address people’s social needs, and improve health across communities. The CIE is available to community-based organizations, government entities, and healthcare organizations. Our presenter will be Jennifer McGlothen who is a Community Engagement Manager with Unite Us. Born and raised in Kansas City, Jennifer lived in several major cities before returning to Kansas City where she is based. She received her B.S. in marketing from Drake University and has had many client-facing roles in healthcare. She transitioned to the nonprofit sector, working to support small businesses, entrepreneurs, and community-based organizations through engagement and partnerships.

###

Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
We send out an email agenda and calendar invite to this stakeholder list, which we loosely call the Health Innovation Team. If you wish to be added to the email list, please send a note to jfitzpatrick@kcdigitaldrive.org.
